
A Documentary movie directed and produced by Afghan girl, Anita Haidary was put to display in a photo exhibition event held by Young Women for Change (YWC) in Kabul today.
The film reflects harassment for Afghan women in Afghanistan streets and public places. It says about the reasons of this problem, the negative effects it has on women in long term and the ways to deal with it.
The two days photo exhibition event was held for the purpose of funds raising to support the women internet café which will be launched soon by Young Women for Change organization.
Young Women for Change (YWC) is a non-profit organization founded by Noor Jahan Akbar and Anita Haidary, two women activists for the purpose of empowering Afghan women through providing awareness and advocacy.
Mohammad Zafar Saleh who is serving as a coordinator in YWC said to Khaama Press, “We are currently working on a research program about women harassment in Afghanistan. The research will be conducted from at least 5,000 individuals throughout Afghanistan.”
He further added about establishing a female internet café for women in Kabul city later next week by Young Women for Change (YWC).
“The total budget for setting up the women internet café will be around USD 15,000 donated by individuals”, said Mr. Salehi.
Tooba Ahmadyar, young college student who is serving YWC as volunteer said, “I want from my people to buy our photos and posters to enable us set up the internet café quicker.”
